Tuesday, November 2. Today is November 2 (All Souls Day). The bulbs are all tucked away,we are counting the pennies and hope we can make it till we start a new season. Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas to all ye happy souls!

Tuesday, October 12. We are now planting bulbs and hope to be done by the end of the month. Planting conditions are quite good relative to other years. Pictures tell a better story.

Be sure to drop by the University and the Ballard Farmers' Markets to get your spring bulbs from us!

Wednesday, September 14. We have dug up all the bulbs. The photos you see are of Eremerus roots. If they are too big, you can always purchase little ones from your favorite Dutch bulb supplier. These will grow and flower next year.

Sunday, July 24, 2011 We are now picking Allium "Drumstrick". That finishes out our bulb blower season.

Monday, June 27, 2011 We are now picking Allium "Hair", Eremerus "Shellford" and Eremerus "Olga". We are still waiting for Brodiaea Corona and its variants as well as the drumstick Allium (aka bullet onion).

Saturday, June 18, 2011 Picking is in full swing now. We have all colors of the Eremurus Ruyter hybrids, the very best of all Eremurus. In Alliums, new is Firmament. Thursday, May 26, 2011 We now have pink and white wood hyacinths (Scilla hispanica). The first midsize Alliums ("Purple Sensation" & "Jesdianum"). By Monday, expect the first large Alliums (Stipitatum and "Gladiator"). Also, the first of the Large Eremurus (Himalaicus and Himrob). These are white and light pink respectively.

Friday, May 16, 2011 We are now also picking blue Scilla hispanica. No whites yet. We are also picking green Ornithogalum nutans (Star of Bethlehem), and Allium cowanii. These are all lovely for fine floral work.

Monday, May 9, 2011 We are out of Frittelaria and Muscari latifolia. We are now picking Muscari "Sapphire", a sterile sport of the common Muscari, with a very long shelf life, and Narcissus poeticus var. recurvus.

Snow geese in our fieldsMonday, April 18, 2011. I can truly say that in all the years I have done this, I have never seen weather this horrid in this time period. However, the snowgeese have left the valley. That must mean winter is finally over!

We are presently picking Frittelaria assyriaca,
Erythronium “Pagoda”, and Muscari latifolia. Hopefully, as time goes on, we will keep this section updated.
